Social Distancing and staying home

We wanted to give you a quick update on how we're doing our best to stay healthy and protect our customers.

All members of our household are healthy and have been following strict social distancing protocols; remaining at-home since March 13th. All of the wood.wool.stone inventory is stored at our in-home studio, as are our shipping supplies.

When I say strict, I mean strict! Some of our precautions may seem severe, but we really care about remaining healthy and doing everything in our power to prevent the spread of this terrible virus. We're aware that our actions impact not just our family, but our community too!

We live rurally so as a family when we go outside for a walk, we rarely encounter other people. The one time we encountered another person on the road (we have  no sidewalks) in the last 2 weeks, we stayed well over 6 feet away from that ambitious runner.

Our groceries have been delivered once.  They were delivered to the front step of my home. The bags were placed in the center of our hardwood floors and put away from that location.  The bags were disposed of, the floor was washed, my hands were washed and then all cabinet handles, door knobs and refrigerator handles were disinfected as well.

Junk mail is immediately disposed of and essential mail is collected in one spot and we wait a day to open it - hands are washed vigorously there after.

We are also conscious that many of our favorite local restaurants are struggling, so we have ordered take-out twice.  Detailing each step taken would be beyond boring for you to read, but please know it involved disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, the immediate re-plating of our food and disposal of take out containers, surfaces were washed where takeout containers were rested and then re-heating all of our food that had gotten cold in the scrubbing process!

Most of our shipments weigh less than a pound and can be shipped with no contact at a post office blue box.  When an order comes in that would weigh more than a pound, we are now shipping that order in multiple smaller packages so that we can continue to ship without encountering other people.  All shipping is covered by wood.wool.stone no matter how many packages it takes.

I know that reading the nitty-gritty is pretty dull, but we want to reassure you that all precautions are taken to ensure that the product you receive from wood.wool.stone comes from a safe and healthy environment.

If we've missed something you're curious about, don't hesitate to reach out by phone, email or comment below.  We believe in transparency and are more than happy to answer any of your questions.
